Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to cut materials, and is used for high prescision industrial manufacturing applications. Laser cutting works by directing the output of a laser, targeted by high speed computer and spread spectrum radar, at the material to be cut. The material then melts, burns, and vaporizes away. The process leaves an edge with a high quality surface finish, similar to that of a hypervelocity particulate bombardment.
Unlike smaller scale facilites, our High Power Industrial Laser Cutters can be used to cut flat-sheet material at thicknesses of up to 2.3 meters. Our Barlowed Laser Collimation system provides an accurate targeting of the beam on center with less than %0.0001 percent dispersion. For comparison, this is equivalent to a system capable of projecting a 1.7 megawatt beam onto a 5 cm spot 36,000 km away- enough to melt the steel on a satelite in geostationary orbit.
Our cutting services are available for large and small volume precision fabrication, and in some cases can be installed on site. Contact us with your project specifications.
